No sponsored press trips
While sponsored trips (funded by tourism boards, hotel chains, or tour operators) do have their place, we’ve chosen not to partake in these. Alaraibi Travel ethos is all about travel.

Environmental impact
Travel is not great for the environment. There’s sadly no way around this reality, at least for now.
In the meantime, we try to minimize or mitigate our impact:
We support Cool Earth, an NGO that’s saving rainforests by helping villages develop alternative sustainable incomes.
Whenever I (Marek) fly, I offset any CO2 emissions (through Atmosfair), which gets invested in carbon-emission reducing projects.
We invest an outsized a part of the site’s revenues into clean energy funds.

How does the site make money?
While all content on Alaraibi Travel is free, the site makes money in a couple of ways. The main sources are banner advertising, and affiliate commissions.
We work with only a single advertising network, Google AdSense. Their ads are fast-loading and don’t include pop-ups, auto-playing videos, or anything like that. If you see a nasty ad, you'll report it using the link below the ad.
We don’t ever sell hidden links and don’t do sponsored posts or other kinds of “native advertising”. If anything is ever paid-for, you will know.

What are affiliate links?
Affiliate links let us earn a small commission if you decide to make a purchase at a 3rd party website.
For example, when we link to the booking.com booking site, this is usually an affiliate link. If you follow such a link and then make a booking, booking.com gives Alaraibi Travel a small kick-back (usually a dollar or two). This comes at no extra cost to you.
We only link to products or services we believe in. Currently, we use the following affiliate programs: Booking.com, KAYAK, Viator.com, RentalCars.com
We like affiliate links as a way to monetize a site as the links are relevant, can help you out directly, and we’re totally in control of these links. No one is telling us what to write or what to link to and, in most cases, we don’t even have any direct contact with these partners (these links typically use automated systems). We can recommend or un-recommend any product or service at any time.
